Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency held on Tuesday April 12, 2023 the 2nd meeting of persons in a situation of handicap on the theme “Al Quds supported by persons with a handicap”. Leaders and representatives of several institutions, institutions and associations in the holy city were present in the meeting.
The Agency acting Director, Dr. Mohamed Salem Acharkaoui, noted that that this 2nd edition of the meeting is held as the Agency is marking its silver jubilee, under the aegis of His Majesty King Mohammed VI of Morocco, chairman of Al Quds Committee, who grants a special importance to the Agency and orients it to carry out concrete projects that yield a positive impact on the holy city and its resistance population.
In a speech read out on his behalf by Mr. Smail Erramli, coordinator of the Agency programs and projects in Al Quds, Acharkaoui stressed that the Agency’s commitment to mark April 12 as the annual meeting of persons in a situation of handicap is an opportunity to allow this category of people a tribune to meet, debate and propose new and innovative ideas to improve their situation and upgrade their integration in the issues of their societies.
Dr. Acharkaoui also underlined that the meeting, held on the theme “Al Quds supported by persons with a handicap” will reinforce our “concern as to the best and most effective means to guarantee support to the largest possible number of institutions and associations, given the limited means available”, insisting that “the Agency’s funds do not bear any conditions other than the guarantee that they will reach those who deserve it, entirely”.
Acharkaoui announced that “a second allotment, meeting the criteria adopted, will be earmarked to persons with special needs in all the Agency’s programs dealing with housing, community initiatives, various scholarships, vocational training programs and electronic marketing of associations and merchants’ products”.
In a speech on behalf of the local population, Archbishop Attallah Hana, The head of the Greek Orthodox Church in Jerusalem, commended the Agency’s efforts to carry out field actions in support of the resistance of the Palestinian people, particularly in Al Quds. “We are loyal to these efforts. From Al Quds we are saying: thank you to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairman of Al Quds Committee, for your contributions and your efforts”, he affirmed, in this context.
On his part, the head of the Arab association of persons with a handicap, Mr. Ihssane Idkik, paid tribute to the roles played by Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency to protect the city, preserve its religious and civilizational status and gather conditions for dignified living to its inhabitants through programs and projects in health, education and construction, commending the support of the Moroccan leadership and people to Al Quds population who are defending, on behalf of the Arab-Islamic nation, the purest holy sites.
During the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Agency, represented by the coordinator of its projects in Al Quds, Mr. Smail Arramli, and the Arab association of persons with a handicap, represented by its president, Mr. Ihssane Idkik. By virtue of the agreement, the Agency will finance a project to empower at the social level persons with a handicap, by holding a workshop and campaigns of awareness-promotion, social support and integration in addition to vocational training.
