Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency, the Moroccan Union of professional plastic artists and “Bayt Achiir” (Poetry house) signed on March 9, 2023 a cooperation protocol to organize the “Poetry in the colors of Al Quds: Poetic drama by the brushes of plastic artists” exhibition, as part of the celebrations marking the Agency’s silver jubilee, under the aegis of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairman of Al Quds Committee.
By virtue of this protocol, signed by the Agency managing director, Mr. Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the Union chairman, Mr.Mohamed Mansouri Idrissi, and the president of Bayt Achiir, Mr. Mourad Kadiri, the three parties agreed to cooperate to organize an exhibition of paintings by Moroccan artists and poets who will “cross voices to give birth to fine arts with Al Quds colors”.
The exhibition catalogue noted that the Moroccan plastic artists “have created artistic paintings to celebrate the elements of beauty pouring from the inkwells of poets, yielding fresh breezes blowing all over Bayt Al-Maqdiss to breathe a brilliant soul that shakes off the dust of gloominess, letting the light of life vanquish over darkness”.
At the protocol signing ceremony, Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif managing director, Mr. Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, stressed that the Moroccan plastic artists and poets reactiveness to the exhibition meets the Agency’s need to open up onto the country’s live forces and avail them with the opportunity to contribute to consolidating and promoting the Moroccan continuous generosity towards the Palestinian cause in general, and Al Quds cause in particular.
“We at Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, an offshoot of Al Quds Committee chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, are loyal to our faith that the Moroccan elite’s adherence to supporting the human just causes reflects the nobility of this people and their drive to uphold the values of freedom, justice and equality”, stated Mr. Echarkaoui.
He added that the participation and presence of Moroccan artists and poets in this event “incarnates the true solidarity of Moroccans with their Palestinian brethren, and goes beyond mere slogans and sterile biddings, reflecting as it was stated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, on more than one occasion, a commitment to the pact to carry on the fruitful efforts made by Al Quds Committee, combining diplomacy and politics as well as field social action.”
Echarkaoui also pointed out that Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency will remain faithful to its track, in accordance with the Royal high instructions to give importance to projects yielding direct and concrete impact on the life of Al Quds population, in all sectors, including the cultural sector that is given a special priority and where actions encompass supporting cultural centers, funding cultural events, including arts exhibits and forums, publication and protection of the Palestinian archives and the city’s collective memory of its resistant population.
The Agency managing director also noted that “the Moroccan cultural center –Bayt Al Maghrib- in Al Quds, to be opened shortly, will be an additional platform to consolidate the promotion of the Moroccan culture, ideals, values and the components of its civilization, not only in Palestine and the Levant, but also in the entire Middle East”.
The protocol provides for holding exhibitions of paintings made from poetry verses. It is open for plastic artists and poets wishing to contribute with artistic productions. Receipts will benefit the Agency.
In parallel to the exhibition, to open on March 20 at the Agency head office in Rabat and to go on throughout the month of Ramadan, a special stamp produced on the occasion of the Agency silver jubilee in cooperation with Barid Al Maghrib, will be unveiled.
