Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif launched on Saturday (March 25, 2023) in Al Quds the social assistance operation for the needy population in Al Quds on the occasion of the blessed month of Ramadan. The operation was funded by the Kingdom of Morocco for a total amount of 100,000 US Dollars.
The number of recipients reached a total of 124 families of orphans sponsored by the Agency, 500 needy families together with recipients of six social institutions and charities, 131 school guards in Al Quds and 80 households classified as vulnerable.
The list of recipients was established by social experts from “Arribat” monitoring, follow-up and assessment observatory, an organ of the Agency in Al Quds, according to precise standards, under the supervision of the coordination office of the Agency programs and projects in the holy city.
The operation consisted of food assistance, for one entire month, delivered to recipients. It comprised 22 types of staple food and some other products that families need during the month of Ramadan.
The first distribution ceremony took place in the presence of Mr. Mohamed Salem Acharkaoui, the head of the education department in Al Quds and other religious and social figures from Al Quds in addition to representatives of the recipient institutions.
Two days ago, the Agency had announced in Al Quds a program of social events comprising activities by 13 associations from Al Quds, together with the lighting up of the Ramadan lantern at Bourj-Allaqlal social association, on the occasion of the advent of the blessed month.
