“As much as Palestine is need of popular moral support and political backing at all levels, it also needs material support that allows Palestinians to take on the daily challenges they are facing in Al Quds, Gaza and the West Bank as well as abroad”, he stressed.
Echarkaoui also underlined that Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif brings evidence to “the efforts made by the Kingdom of Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairman of Al Quds Committee, to uphold the Palestinian cause, defend the holy city and support its resistant people on their blessed land”.
He also called for “replicating” this Moroccan honorable “practical and realistic” model that combines political support and social backing, underscoring the financial resources earmarked by the Kingdom of Morocco to the Agency and that account today for 100% of states’ voluntary contributions.
Moroccans can rightfully be proud of their history in Al Quds and be proud of their present in the city. This present that is based on the pact of loyalty, faithfulness and solidarity”, he went on.
Echarkaoui also mentioned the “symbolism and significance of the Moroccan presence in Al Quds, through the presence of families of Moroccan descent and the multiple achievements bearing the name of Morocco in Al Quds and in Gaza, adding that Palestinians highly respect Morocco, its sons, His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, and before him his late father Hassan II and his late grandfather Mohammed V”.
