Al Quds- July 2, 2023
Palestinian magazine “Al Maqdissya” has underlined in its 19th issue (summer 2023) the programs carried out by Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency and the roles played by HM King Mohammed VI, chairman of Al Quds Committee, and by the Kingdom of Morocco to support Al Quds inhabitants and institutions.
The periodical published by the Center of Al Quds studies, Al Quds University, has written extensively about the silver jubilee of Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, its programs, future prospects and its research publications on the city of Al Quds, in addition to the proceedings of the 1st Free Days Forum, held by the Agency last March on the theme of “social and economic sectors in Al Quds: present challenges and development pre-requisites”.
The Magazine published, in this context, the address delivered by the Agency acting director, Mr. Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, who stressed that Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency is standing by its commitment to uphold Al Quds populations and institutions, and has, thus, earned a good reputation and credibility on the part of Al Quds inhabitants who praise the Agency as an embodiment of the Ummah’s will to preserve and develop the holy city. He also noted that thanks to the direct supervision of HM King Mohammed VI, the Agency has become a leading reference for actions in Al Quds, owing to the experience and expertise it has accumulated so far and also to its keenness to develop the appropriate mechanisms to make sure that the donations destined to fund programs actually reach the recipients.
Mr. Echarkaoui further pointed out that the Agency has carried out over 200 major projects, during the last 20 years, with a budget exceeding 64 million dollars, following an approach that takes into account the specificities and characteristics of Al Quds, based on partnership and direct interaction with recipients, funders and enterprises.
The Palestinian publication also underscored the first results of the “Free days forum” that brought together opinion-makers and influential figures from the world, noting the Agency’s essential and leading part, owing to its realistic approach and knowledge of the details of life and institutions in the city, expressing the hope that the Jubilee anniversary will give a new impetus to the Agency’s action.
The publication wrote that the Agency together with other Palestinian and international institutions has succeeded in scoring major achievements in Al Quds, enshrining, therefore, its social and humane missions, noting that these achievements, albeit crucial, are not enough alone to protect the city and preserve its Arab-Islamic identity and uphold the resistance of its population.
The Agency’s research publications dealing with the history, reality and future of Al Quds were also highlighted by the Palestinian publication.
