Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency and the Islamic Supreme Committee signed on July 29, 2023 a support and cooperation agreement designed to organized joint activities in the holy city.
The agreement was signed by the honorable Sheikh Dr. Ikrima Sabri, for the Committee, and Mr. Ismail Rmili, project and program coordinator at the Agency, at the Committee premises in the old city in the presence of members of the committee and executives from the Agency, in addition to a host of figures from Al Quds.
Dr. Ikrima Sabri expressed, in a speech on this occasion, his gratitude to H.M. King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al Quds Committee, to the Moroccan people and to Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency, the executive arm of the Committee, an offshoot of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, for their support to Al Quds and the sanctities.
He noted that “the agreement provides for setting up an endowment documentary library and holding the Committee’s seventh academic conference as well as publishing its documents”, stressing that the Committee will remain in close touch with the Agency to carry out the projects benefitting the city, the population and the institutions in Al Quds.
“Cooperation between the two sides is not new, since in 2011 the Agency extended to the Committee a generous support and this bond is being continuously renewed”, he stated.
On his part, Mr. Ismail Rmili said that “this agreement is part of the Agency’s action, in accordance with the high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, to carry on efforts meant to support Al Quds and its institutions in many sectors, within the Agency’s available financial resources”.
He added that “the personal supervision of HM the King of the Agency’s action in Al Quds, the executive and field arm of Al Quds Committee, adds to its fondness and commitment to select practical and feasible projects and adopt innovating initiatives within quality partnerships to support Al Quds institutions.
On the margins of the signing ceremony, Al Quds poet, Dr. Mouataz Al Qutb, read out a poem dealing with the bonds between Al Quds and Morocco, as a token of consideration and consideration to His Majesty the King and the Moroccan people who is marking on these blessed days the glorious Throne Day.
The Islamic Supreme Committee is the first Islamic institution set up after 1967 and has, since, been substantially contribution to preserving Islamic holy sites in Al Quds, particularly the blessed Al Aqsa Mosque.
