Children from Al Quds participating in the 14th summer camp themed “Al Massira Al Khadra” toured on Sunday August 13, 2023 the city of Chefchaouen, as part of the 3rd day of the summer camp, held by the Agency in partnership and cooperation with the ministry of youth, culture and communications until August 26, under the aegis of His Majesty King Mohammed VI –Chairman of Al Quds Committee.
The youngsters toured the “Blue” city and strolled the streets, avenues and squares, showing admiration for the landscapes, colors and buildings that blend Mediterranean and Andalusian architectural styles.
After the visit, the province governor, Mohamed Alami Waddane, received the group of participants who expressed their recognition for this generous gesture that His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of Al Quds committee, has been annually doing for the children of Al Quds to give them an opportunity to visit Morocco and enjoy the diversity of its landscape, the beauty of its nature and the kindness of its people.
The day before, the group of children from Al Quds had visited the monuments of Tangiers, including the ancient Kasbah, the Riad Assultane cultural and leisure space, the Kasbah museum, the contemporary arts museum, Borj Dar Al Baroud, Foundouk Dar Eddebagh, Bab Diwana and Souk Eddakhel.
At Burj Annaam, a memorial where some of Ibn Battuta’s books and purchases are displayed, the young participants enjoyed the opportunity to get to know some of the Moroccan explorer travels to Al Quds and Palestine, as well as other trips that led him to the African Sahara, the Malian empire, India and East Asia, via the Maldives where he served as judge, Andalusia, Yemen, Egypt, Tunisia, Iraq, The Levant, in addition to Mecca, Medina and so many other regions of the world.
As has become a tradition each year, the young people from Al Quds were keen on sharing the Kingdom of Morocco’s national celebrations by presenting selections of the Palestinian folklore, in addition to a special song on the occasion of the youth day, titled “benevolence of a kingdom”, as a token of consideration and recognition from the children of Al Quds and their families to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the brave Moroccan people
