Prayers for the absent were performed on Sunday after the Dohr prayers for the rest of the soul of the shuhada who passed away during the quake that hit several Moroccan regions.
The prayer service was held in the presence of officials from the Waqfs and Islamic Affairs Council in Al Quds, the Waqf department in Al Quds, the coordinator and staff of Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency in Al Quds, representatives of the Moroccan Waqf in Al Quds, members of Moroccan families in Al Quds and a large number of the city inhabitants and visitors.
Prayers implored the Almighty to grant mercy to the Shuhada, give to their relatives and to all Moroccans patience and solace, grant prompt recovery to those injured, preserve the Kingdom of Morocco from any scourge and affliction and help its wise leadership, particularly His Majesty King Mohammed VI, to overcome God’s destiny.
In the same vein, the office of Bayt Mal Al Quds Asharif Agency in Al Quds has been receiving since yesterday morning solidarity messages from Palestinian institutions and figures in Al Quds following the earthquake that rocked some Moroccan regions.
The messages convey sincere sympathy and condolences, following the tragedy that left casualties and material damages from the Palestinian institutions and figures to His Majesty King Mohammed VI and to the Moroccan people following the tremor that left casualties and material damages as well as prayers to preserve and protect the Kingdom of Morocco and prayers of mercy for the soul of the victims and of prompt recovery to those injured.
In this context, the Agency received a message from the official in charge of Al Quds at the executive committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, Adnan Al-Husseini, Al Quds affairs minister, Fadi Al Hadmi, Al Qods governor, Adnane Gheit, the Mufti of Al Quds and Palestine, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein, the director general of the department of Islamic endowments, Sheikh Azzam Al Khatib, the head of the Supreme Islamic Council, Sheikh Ekrima Sabri and the secretary general of the People’s National Congress for Al Quds, Major General Bilal Natsheh.
Similar messages of sympathy and condolences were sent to the Agency by several representatives of churches in Al Quds, the Islamic endowments council in Al Quds, the Islamic-Christian Council for the Defense of Al Quds and the Holy sites, the department of education, the chamber of commerce, the University of Al Quds, the league of clubs, social and charity organizations, sports associations, cultural associations, dignitaries, artists, entrepreneurs and families and supervisors of Al Quds children who participated in the annual successive summer camps in Morocco.
