Rabat, February 9, 2024
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, affiliated with the Al-Quds Committee under the chairmanship of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, announced yesterday evening in Rabat during its charitable event “Laylat Al-Ehsane” held in conjunction with the Night of ‘Isra and Mi’raj’, the Ramadan program in Al-Quds for the year 1445 Hijri, with a budget of 300,000 US dollars.
The event was attended by several ambassadors and representatives of the Arab and Islamic diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Morocco attened this event.
The program consists of food baskets containing 22 items of basic foodstuffs for 1,000 beneficiary families, providing more than 3,000 food rations, with 100 food rations per day.
Additionally, Quranic and religious chanting nights will be held every Friday during the holy month of Ramadan, and ‘Eid’ outfits will be allocated for the benefit of 200 orphans.
The Agency invited social and economic institutions, businessmen, and philanthropists to contribute to the funding of the program, following its successful implementation last Ramadan.
The program benefited 128 families of orphans sponsored by the Agency, 500 needy families, the families of 131 Al-Quds school guards, and 80 families whose breadwinners lost their means of livelihood. Additionally, support was extended to members of various charitable and social institutions.
As is customary, every year, beneficiaries of the Ramadan operation are selected based on principles and criteria established by a committee of social specialists, under the supervision of the Agency’s Office of Coordination of Programs and Projects in Al-Quds.
These criteria assist the Agency and its partner social institutions in the Holy City in determining selection priorities within the limits of the budget allocated for this operation.
Mr. Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the director in charge of managing the BMAQ Agency, stated in a speech he delivered during the charitable event that ‘The Agency’s management believes that diversifying funding sources is not a choice, but a responsibility dictated by the desire to consolidate the Institution’s presence as a key partner in Al-Quds.
It aims to enhance its capabilities to respond to the needs of the Palestinian population and their institutions, especially in these challenging times the entire region is currently facing”.
In this regard, Mr.Echarkaoui emphasized that ‘every dirham, dollar, or euro obtained by the Institution is directly allocated to funding projects without deducting fees or file expenses, as the operational expenses of the Agency are fully covered by a generous grant from the government of the Kingdom of Morocco.’
He added that the Agency has recently strengthened precision and security measures in managing funds by enhancing the administration’s mechanisms and digitizing its processes.
As a result, the Agency obtained a quality certification in the field of fundraising management and project financing and implementation procedures in Al-Quds after fulfilling the requirements of the International Standard (ISO 9001:2015)
