Rabat, May 9, 2024
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency is participating in the 29th edition of the International Publishing and Book Fair in Rabat with the symbolic Dome of the Rock gallery. This participation is in partnership and cooperation with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication of Morocco.
The gallery, spanning 90 square meters, features architecture that blends authentic Moroccan elements with Palestinian characteristics, emulating features of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, particularly the golden dome. It serves as an integrated and interactive space for both children and adults.
The gallery is divided into several sections: a children’s pavilion hosting activities from the “Children for Jerusalem Club,” a special pavilion for the “Bayt al-Maqdis Center for Research and Studies” showcasing the agency’s publications, books, and periodicals, and a solidarity space where the public can donate to support Palestinians, under the theme “With Them in Adversity, as in Good Days.”
This year, the children’s area in the gallery provides Moroccan children the opportunity to connect with their Palestinian peers through greeting cards provided by the agency, expressing solidarity and condolences. These cards will be delivered to various Palestinian schools as part of a symbolic solidarity initiative.
The pavilion of the Bayt al-Maqdis Center for Research and Studies displays the agency’s publications for the current year and manages the intellectual and cultural programming for the agency’s participation in the fair. This year’s program includes the announcement of the results of the fifth edition of the “Colors of Jerusalem” award for schoolchildren in Morocco and Jerusalem on May 16, 2024, in cooperation with the Regional Academy of Education and Training of the Fez-Meknes region.
From May 13 to 19, 2024, the Dome of the Rock gallery will welcome students from several Jerusalem schools, who will visit Morocco accompanied by their guardians. This visit is part of a generous solidarity initiative by the Supreme Council for Education and Training with Palestinian children.
The gallery is equipped with a large screen to showcase films and documentaries about the agency’s projects and programs in Jerusalem, available for viewing during the exhibition’s opening hours.
