The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) announced its strategy in the fields of digitization and innovation today, May 27, 2024, in Casablanca, under the slogan “Digital Development in the Service of Economic and Social Development in Jerusalem.”
This announcement comes as part of the Agency’s commitment to fulfilling its obligations to serve the noble city of Jerusalem and its steadfast inhabitants, under the esteemed leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, the Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee.
In a speech on the occasion, Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the director in charge the current affairs management of BMAQ said, “In light of the tremendous opportunities that digitization offers to young people, the Agency must engage in this path to provide the youth of Jerusalem with the chance to enhance their abilities to adapt and continue their journey in the fields of innovation.”
He added, “This approach will empower them with sufficient resilience to persist in building their enterprises, adapting to the challenging conditions prevailing in the city of Jerusalem, including the complexities of working and producing there, such as legal constraints, taxes, and investment incentives.”
He emphasized in this regard “the Agency’s commitment to contributing, “within its competences and capabilities, to creating the appropriate conditions for Palestinian youth, enabling them to soar with the wings of knowledge and development to broader and more expansive horizons by leveraging all possible opportunities offered by modern technologies and digitization.”
The Agency’s digital program, hosted by the offices of “Bayt Al-Mal Plus” in the heart of Casablanca, is structured around five main pillars. These include: the Bayt Al-Maghrib platform in Jerusalem, dedicated to documenting and protecting the city’s human heritage; an incubator for start-up companies; the “Dlala” platform for e-commerce and solidarity trade; an advanced remote education system; and an electronic psychological clinic for managing cases of psychological disorders caused by trauma. Additionally, there are the “HAYYA” applications for entertainment and education about the virtues of Jerusalem, aimed at children and teenagers.
The meeting concluded with the signing of agreements to finance the incubation of five start-ups from Jerusalem, along with an addendum to the agreement with the National School of Management and Administration in Casablanca regarding support for the involvement of the school’s students in this program.
The meeting was notably attended by Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, BMAQ’s director in charge of the current affairs management; echarkoui, the director-general of the Islamic Center for Development of Trade under the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Ismail El Kabbaj, director of the National School of Business and Managment in Casablanca, a representative from the Palestinian embassy, delegates from the diplomatic corps accredited to the Kingdom of Morocco, in addition to the presidents of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry for the Casablanca-Settat and Rabat-Salé-Kénitra regions.
