The pavilion of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency (BMAQ) , at the second edition of “GITEX Africa 2024” held in Marrakech, the Kingdom of Morocco, from May 29-31, 2024, under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, welcomed hundreds of visitors.
This event provided an opportunity to learn about the Agency and its interventions in the Holy City, particularly in the field of digitization and support for innovative projects for Jerusalemites.
Mohammed Salem Echarkaoui, BMAQ’s director in charge of the current affairs management, stated that the pavilion provided an opportunity for project leaders from Palestine and Morocco to interact with global digital markets.
He pointed out that the Agency’s startup incubator, “BMAQ Innovation Hub,” was showcased at the exhibition, which further strengthened the continuous connection between Moroccans and Palestinians, as well as the exhibitors’ interaction with global digital markets.
The Agency supported the participation of three projects by Master’s students in digital media and communication from Al-Quds University, as well as two projects by Palestinian startups.
In this regard, Echarkaoui stated that this experience could help Palestinian startups “transcend natural and virtual boundaries, and promote inspiring and innovative ideas capable of making a difference, whether in the lives of the youth themselves or in their environment and community.”
It is worth mentioning in this regard that the Palestinian projects competed with hundreds of other entrepreneurial ideas and companies participating in the exhibition, proposing technological solutions in various fields related to the use of artificial intelligence tools in healthcare, agriculture, and animal husbandry. These were the main themes of this year’s edition of the global event.

At the same event, Moroccan youth visiting the Agency’s pavilion celebrated their Palestinian counterparts’ participating in the exhibition. They gathered around a panel featuring a map of Morocco from Tangier to La Güera, adorned with the national flag, as a token of appreciation and gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, under who sponsors the work of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency.
