The director running the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) , Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, held discussions today in Jeddah with the Chairman of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, Sheikh Niang, on ways to cooperate between the two entities on issues of mutual interest.
On this occasion, Sheikh Niang praised the work of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, for promoting the values of security, peace, and coexistence in the region, particularly in Al-Quds Asharif, and for preserving its legal status.
During his meeting with Mr. Echarkaoui on the sidelines of a conference hosted by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah on the topic “Jerusalem and the War on Gaza: Palestinian Identity and Existence under the Threat of Obliteration,” Sheikh Niang called for the UN committee he chairs to strengthen its cooperation with the BMAQ Agency, which is affiliated with the Al-Quds Committee, emanating from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
For his part, Mr. Echarkaoui commended the efforts of the UN Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People in raising global awareness about the importance of protecting Jerusalem and preserving its legal status, paving the way for acceptable solutions to the Palestinian issue.
Mr. Echarkaoui expressed his hope for arranging upcoming meetings that would result in joint actions between the two sides to serve the objectives shared by the UN Committee and the BMAQ Agency.
