On Thursday, the distinguished University of Chile hosted discussions centered on the efforts of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) to support Palestinians and safeguard the Arab and Islamic identity of the Holy City.

In his presentation, Professor Abdelrahman El-Fathi emphasized that the BMAQ Agency operates under the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, and focuses on delivering humanitarian aid to Palestinians.
He highlighted that the Agency’s projects in Palestine aim to safeguard the identity and memory of the Palestinian people so that the Holy City remains a space for coexistence among the three monotheistic religions and a beacon of humanity at large .
The professor also highlighted the vital role of establishing schools, vocational training centers, and healthcare facilities in bolstering the resilience of Palestinians in Jerusalem.
He further underscored the importance of academic discussions on the Palestinian cause, emphasizing their role in promoting dialogue and coexistence as essential tools for safeguarding lives and preventing conflicts.
Professor Abdelrazzaq El-Hiri, in his presentation, offered an in-depth overview of the initiatives undertaken by the BMAQ Agency. These projects focus on preserving the religious heritage and collective memory of the Holy City, carried out under the direct guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
He elaborated that since its inception in 1998, BMAQ has been dedicated to safeguarding Arab and Islamic rights in the Holy City and strengthening the resilience of its inhabitants. This is achieved through funding and supporting initiatives in key areas such as health, education, and housing, alongside efforts to preserve Jerusalem’s religious and cultural heritage.
Professor El-Hiri added that Morocco’s support for the Palestinian people’s struggle, beyond its political positions, has been manifest through substantial financial aid and various initiatives implemented by the Agency.
The Agency’s main focus areas include delivering social support to Jerusalem residents, safeguarding urban cultural heritage, improving access to healthcare and education, and promoting women’s empowerment.
In a statement to the Moroccan News Agency (MAP), Kamal Komsil, Director of the Center for Arab Studies at the University of Chile, noted that the efforts of the BMAQ Agency are “essential for preserving the Arab and Islamic heritage” of the Holy City.
The Chilean academic praised the initiatives launched to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people and commended Morocco’s longstanding principles of coexistence and tolerance.
