On Saturday evening, the historic Chellah site in Rabat hosted the closing ceremony for the official program of the 15th session of the summer camp for the children of Al-Quds. This camp is conducted under the esteemed patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, may God grant him support.
In a speech on the occasion, Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid stated, “The summer camp for the children of Al-Quds, organized under the high patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God protect him, aims to strengthen the cultural ties between the sister countries of Morocco and Palestine.”
He highlighted that the camp “continues to develop each year by enhancing its cultural, artistic, sports, educational, and tourism programs. It also introduces new elements to showcase Morocco’s rich tourism and cultural heritage.”
The Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Morocco, Jamal Shoubaki, noted that the closing ceremony of the 15th summer camp for the children of Jerusalem in Morocco is a “celebration of the hope represented by a generation of youth, who symbolize a bright future. It underscores the deep connections that unite us, connections that go beyond geography and politics to touch the essence of our shared dream.”
He added: “Dear children, you have come from a holy city, a city yearning for peace, carrying with you its challenges and the hopes of its people.”
For his part, Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the Director in charge of running the BMAQ Agency, stated that “the idea of organizing annual summer camps in Morocco for Palestinian children from Al-Quds began in 2008. His Majesty, may God assist him, recognized its significant impact on the generations of Al-Quds with his wisdom and foresight. As the children who participated in each session have grown older, they have become exceptional ambassadors extraordinary for the Kingdom of Morocco in their city and homeland. Their experiences reflect the profound love and deep connection that Moroccans have for Al-Quds and its blessed mosque”.
The ceremony featured artistic performances from both Palestinian and Moroccan children. These were presented by the Jerusalemite children participating in the program, along with their Moroccan peers from the “Bouznika” and “Abdelkarim El-Foulous in Salé” camps.
