The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) has recently released issue No. 28 of the “Echos from the Al-Quds Committee” in Arabic, accompanied by a supplement in English.
The cover of this issue highlights the warm reception granted by HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan, upon the orders of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to the children of Al-Quds participating in 15th session of the summer camp, named after Yaqub Al-Mansur Al-Muwahhidi.
The latest issue allocates substantial coverage to the royal address given by His Majesty the King in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Throne Day. In this address, His Majesty emphasized Morocco’s unwavering stance on the just Palestinian cause, dedicating a significant portion of his speech to this important issue.
In addition to the regular sections found in previous editions, this issue features a special report on the challenging economic and social conditions in Al-Quds, brought on by the ongoing events impacting the city.
The issue also features international reactions welcoming His Majesty’s initiatives and recognizing the valuable work of the BMAQ Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, in supporting Al-Quds and its inhabitants.
In this regard, Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui, the director in charge of running BMAQ, penned an editorial titled “Saving the Economy of Al-Quds,” where he stressed the need for the Agency to acknowledge the troubling economic and social conditions in Al-Quds. He pointed out that these challenges are severely impacting essential sectors like healthcare, education, and the overall quality of life, largely due to the difficult circumstances affecting the city and its surroundings.
He further stated, “Our understanding of the reality of the Holy City, with its profound religious and spiritual significance, its rich cultural heritage, and our appreciation for its unique religious and cultural identity, alongside its legal status, obliges us to address the challenges facing its social sectors from this perspective. We must also view with concern the difficult obstacles it continues to face.”
The editorial concluded by highlighting that, since the start of 2024, BMAQ has launched various activities and programs aimed at providing social assistance, particularly to the groups most affected by the challenges in the region, including children and vulnerable individuals. The Agency has also prioritized support for associations that empower women and for young people involved in entrepreneurial projects focused on innovation and renewal.
