Issa Qaraqe, Head of the Palestinian National Library, on Wednesday in Rabat, commended the efforts of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ) in “helping Jerusalemites remain steadfast on their land and enabling them to withstand the challenges of blockade, isolation, and displacement.”
During a visit to the Agency’s headquarters, accompanied by Jamal Al-Shoubaki, Palestine’s Ambassador to Morocco, Qaraqe expressed his commitment to extensive cooperation, particularly in Jerusalem, a city he described as “brimming with treasures.” He also highlighted the importance of the Moroccan Cultural Center – Bayt Al-Maghrib – located in the heart of Jerusalem’s Old City.”
For is part, Ambassador Al-Shoubaki noted that the challenges facing Palestine today “put the international legal framework established by the global community to the test.” He praised Morocco’s stance, as outlined by His Majesty King Mohammed VI in the Throne Speech and His letter to the Chair of the Committee on the Exercise of the Inalienable Rights of the Palestinian People, describing these positions as “fully aligned with those of the Palestinian people and their leadership.”
The Palestinian delegation was briefed on the Agency’s programs and projects in Jerusalem, implemented under the direct supervision of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, with a focus on documentation, publishing, and issuing publications.
On this occasion, Mohamed Salem Echarkaoui,BMAQ’s acting director affirmed the Agency’s openness “to all proposals that strengthen its support for the Palestinian National Library, as well as the publishing and distribution sectors in Jerusalem and Palestine, in collaboration with specialized Palestinian institutions.”
