The Mufti of Al-Quds and Palestinian lands, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, visited on Monday (April 10, 2023) the headquarters of Bayt Mal Al Quds, where he was welcomed by the Agency acting director, Dr. Mohamed Salem Acharkaoui.
The visit was an opportunity for Sheikh Muhammad Hussein to enquire about the actions undertaken by the Agency in the Holy city during the month of Ramadan, for a total worth of more than 20,000 US Dollars, in programs of social entertainment and humanitarian and social assistance.
The Agency acting director, Dr. Mohamed Salem Acharkaoui, underlined that the Agency that is honored to be supervised by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, chairman of Al Quds Committee, has undertaken “to light up Al Quds lanterns, thanks to funds from the Kingdom of Morocco, in the old city, BurjAllaqlaq to Salouane, Wadi Al-Jouz, then Issawyia to BaytHanina, Chaafat, JabalMukaber.”
Acharkaoui also reviewed the social entertainment program, launched by the Agency in the beginning of the holy month to finance several events in the city, for a total worth of 100,000 US dollars, for the benefit of 13 associations in all Al Quds districts, with a contribution from the association of the Moroccan cultural center –Bayt Al Maghrib in Al Quds.
He also evoked the social assistance program, worth 100,000 US dollars, for around 124 needy families of orphans sponsored by the Agency and 500 other needy families as well as recipients of 6 social institutions and charities, 131 guards of Al Quds schools and 80 families that were classified as being in a vulnerable situation.
Acharaoui further reviewed the alertness and coordination unit set up by the Agency at the MaqassidKhayria association hospital to follow up emergency situations in Al Quds. Together with the field hospital, the alertness and coordination unit are an integrated project to facilitate communication between the field emergency squads, the emergency teams and the ambulances on the one side and the emergency squads at the MaqassidKhayria association, a reference institution for emergencies in Al Quds, on the other.
On his part, the Mufti of Al Quds and Palestinian territories commended the continuous efforts made by Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency and said: “we have been witnesses to all the field actions in Al Quds Asharif and noted its activities to support the resistance of the country which embodies the faith of each Muslim.”
He also voiced appreciation for the contribution of the leadership and people of Morocco and for the bonds linking the Moroccan and Palestinian people, particularly in the city of Al Quds, praising the Agency’s initiative to set up the Moroccan cultural center association –Bayt Al Maghrib- in Al Quds as a bridge connecting the Moroccan and Palestinian people.
During his visit, the Mufti toured the paintings exhibition “Poetry in the colors of Al Quds: Poetic drama by the brushes of plastic artists”, currently held at the Agency headquarters in celebration of Its jubilee silver anniversary.
