Al-Quds -The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency concluded the major humanitarian operation yesterday evening in Jerusalem.
The operation was launched under the royal directives of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, may God preserve him, during the holy month of Ramadan for the year 1445 AH.
The Agency presented the outcome of this significant operation during an “iftar” event attended by distinguished dignitaries from Jerusalem, as well as representatives from Islamic and Christian religious authorities headed by the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine, the Director of the Islamic Waqfs and the Affairs of the Holy Mosque of Al Aqsa, the Deputy Governor of the city, and several representatives of institutions and civil associations.
During this significant operation, over 2200 food baskets were distributed in two phases. They targeted three major hospitals in Jerusalem and approximately 3000 families spread across all neighborhoods and camps, including isolated districts belonging to the governorate outside the wall.
Additionally, more than 30,000 food portions were distributed, averaging 1000 daily portions throughout the holy month. These provisions targeted visitors to the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City, as well as families in various neighborhoods of Jerusalem inside and outside the wall, social centers, mosques, and shelters.
The Agency mobilized significant logistical resources to ensure the success of the operation. Over 100 temporary job opportunities were created throughout the month of Ramadan, benefiting young men and women from the city. They were assigned to service teams in warehouses to sort, pack, and load materials, as well as field teams responsible for meal distribution.
Additionally, there were workers in bakeries and kitchens, supply teams, health and quality control teams, and first aid teams.
The operation has had a significant impact on families and all beneficiaries across various segments and groups, particularly orphans, residents of shelters and nursing homes, visitors to social centers, mosques, and Quranic centers. Additionally, associations for people with disabilities, as well as a number of displaced individuals from Gaza, have also greatly benefited from this impactful initiative.
The operation culminated in distributing 200 vouchers for Eid clothing purchases, benefiting orphans sponsored by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, bringing joy and happiness to the children and their families.
