Rabat, April 26, 2024
The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency has released the 26th issue of its periodical, “Echo of the Al-Quds Committee,” in Arabic, focusing extensively on the major humanitarian operation initiated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to aid the Palestinian population in Gaza and Jerusalem during Ramadan 1445 AH.
This issue, presented in a renewed format, underscores the activities of His Majesty King Mohammed VI in support of the Palestinian cause, both through political and diplomatic channels and humanitarian efforts.
The periodical features the notable social activities and initiatives carried out by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency within its mandate. It also includes a section on the aspects of Ramadan in Jerusalem, which, this year, lacked its usual festive spirit.
In his editorial titled “A Major Humanitarian Operation,” Dr. Muhammad Salem Al-Sharqawi, acting director of the agency, highlighted the operation conducted under the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, underlining that the operation was enhanced with increased resources and efforts, reflecting the deep bonds of brotherhood between Moroccans and their Palestinian brothers, which go back to more than a thousand years.
Dr. Al-Sharqawi remarked that Moroccans, in times of prosperity and adversity, have always been eager to helping Palestinians. He expressed hope that the support, facilitated by His Majesty, would open doors for Palestinians, who had lost hope in receiving aid.
The editorial also noted that Moroccans have witnessed an unprecedented occasion through the launch of the humanitarian aid through land to the Gaza Strip and Jerusalem. An operation that was closely watched by the world, showcasing His Majesty’s continued commitment to the Palestinian cause.
It highlighted that Morocco, under the leadership of His Majesty, prioritizes the Palestinian issue through diplomatic efforts and concrete actions on the ground by the agency.
Looking forward to 2024, Dr. Al-Sharqawi outlined the agency’s goals to enhance human development, empowerment, social assistance, documentation, and memory preservation projects, in addition to projects in the sectors of health, education, trade, agriculture, heritage, youth, sports, childhood, women’s affairs and society.
He emphasized the importance of leveraging technology for economic and social development in Jerusalem, recognizing the potential of digitization to inspire youth to create income-generating projects.
Dr. Al-Sharqawi reiterated the agency’s dedication to serving Jerusalem and its people, adhering to the royal instructions of His Majesty with a blend of ambition and pragmatism to achieve the agency’s goals including protecting the city, preserving its religious and cultural heritage, and preserving its legal status.
He concluded that the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Al-Sharif Agency will continue to seek necessary funding for its programs and projects according to its rules and regulations, pointing out that the agency has proven that it can double its achievements with adequate resources.
