The Arab Parliament, in Cairo, affirmed the important role and continuous efforts exerted by HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, in defending the Palestinian cause.
The Parliament, in a decision issued during its 5th session regarding the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, highlighted the efforts exerted by the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ), affiliated with the Al-Quds Committee, in preserving the identity and legal status of the Holy City and supporting the resilience of its residents.
On the other hand, the Arab Parliament called for coordination between the parliaments of active Arab and regional countries to support Palestine’s attainment of full membership in the United Nations.
It also urged countries that have not yet recognized the State of Palestine to do so in all international forums.
The Parliament commended the Arab and international endeavors aimed at achieving an immediate and urgent halt to the aggression on Gaza and a ceasefire, resolving the conflict in the region based on established international references, and obtaining full membership for the State of Palestine in the United Nations.
The Arab Parliament renewed its affirmation of support and solidarity with the Palestinian people and their just national cause until they obtain their legitimate rights to return, freedom, self-determination, and the establishment of their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Moreover, it emphasized that all international and UN parties must assume their full responsibilities to achieve security, peace, and stability in the Middle East, which will only be achieved by resolving the Palestinian issue and achieving justice and freedom for the Palestinian people.
On this occasion, the Parliament adopted a resolution regarding the situation of Palestinian women in the Palestinian territories.
